The Accu-Cable AC5PDMX25 is a professional 25-foot, 5-pin DMX cable designed for connecting DMX controllers, lighting fixtures, effects, and other compatible DMX equipment. It features a 5-pin XLR male-to-female configuration, providing a standard connection for professional lighting-control systems. With a total length of 25 feet (7.62 meters), the cable offers useful reach for stage, theater, studio, touring, and event-production applications. ADJ specifies the AC5PDMX25 as a cable intended for linking lighting effects for DMX or Primary/Secondary control modes.

The cable uses 22 AWG stranded tinned-copper conductors arranged as a twisted pair, with polyethylene insulation and a polyethylene inner jacket. Its shielding consists of Duofoil aluminum foil-polyester tape with 100% coverage, combined with a tinned-copper braid providing 85% coverage. The outer jacket is made from PVC and is designed to help prevent kinking during handling and storage. The cable has a verified 110-ohm nominal characteristic impedance, making it specifically suited to DMX data transmission rather than ordinary microphone-audio applications.

The AC5PDMX25 also has detailed electrical and mechanical specifications suited to professional production environments. Its documented characteristics include 12.5 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor capacitance at 1 kHz, 23 pF/ft conductor-to-shield capacitance, a 76% nominal velocity of propagation, and a 1.6 ns/ft nominal delay.
