The AJA GEN10 is a cost-effective and flexible SD/HD/AES sync generator designed for broadcast, post-production, and professional video environments where reliable reference signals are essential. This compact mini-converter features seven outputs organized into two independently controlled groups of SD/HD sync outputs plus one dedicated AES-11 output. Each output group can be configured for either HD tri-level sync or SD color black/color bars independently, allowing the GEN10 to simultaneously generate both HD and SD reference signals from a single device. This capability is particularly valuable in facilities transitioning between legacy SD equipment and modern HD infrastructure.

The HD sync output supports tri-level sync across 19 different HD formats, including all commonly used resolutions such as 1080i, 1080p, 1080PsF, and 720p at various frame rates. SD outputs can be configured as either NTSC/PAL color black or 75% color bars for test and alignment applications. The AES-11 output provides 48 kHz digital audio reference with user-selectable silence or a 1 kHz tone at -20 or -18 dBFS. All outputs are derived from an accurate master timebase with 3 parts per million accuracy, ensuring perfect synchronization across all connected equipment.

Configuration is accomplished through external DIP switches accessible via a cutout on the bottom of the unit, eliminating the need for software or computer connections. An internal jumper allows adjustment of NTSC pedestal setup (with or without the 54 mV offset) for compatibility with different broadcast standards. Additional features include a multi-voltage power input accepting 5-18 VDC, support for AC power via the included universal power supply, and power consumption of only 2 watts. The compact enclosure measures just 5.8 inches wide, 3.1 inches deep, and 1.0 inch high, making it suitable for mobile production racks, fly packs, and permanent installations with limited space.
