About the Ayrton CL-MagicDot SX RGBW Moving Lights

The Ayrton CL-MagicDot SX is a compact, high-output moving head luminaire that fuses the precision optics and mechanics of a professional moving light with the vibrant, pixel-mappable color capabilities of an LED fixture. It is built around a high-density array of RGBW LEDs, which together act as a single, powerful pixel that can produce a vast spectrum of saturated colors, pastels, and crisp whites. This "dot" source can be precisely controlled in intensity and color, and when combined with the fixture's optical system—which includes a high-resolution zoom, focus, and frost—it creates a range of effects from sharp, intense beams to soft, wide washes. The fixture's compact and lightweight design makes it particularly suitable for tours and installations where space and weight are at a premium, but where impactful, versatile lighting is required.

The fixture's mechanical movement is a key component of its versatility. It features fast, silent pan and tilt with a wide range of motion, allowing the single, concentrated light dot to be positioned accurately anywhere in a venue. This movement can be used for dynamic aerial beam effects, precise audience lighting, or as a followspot-like tool for highlighting performers. When multiple MagicDot SX units are used together, they can be pixel-mapped to create large-scale, coordinated visual displays, with each fixture acting as an individual pixel in a larger canvas. This makes them powerful for creating immersive environments, graphic chases, and complex color field effects that are synchronized to music.

Constructed with Ayrton's signature build quality, the MagicDot SX is designed for reliability in demanding touring conditions. It incorporates efficient thermal management to ensure consistent LED output and longevity, and its optical system is engineered for high light output with minimal spill. Control is via standard DMX512, with multiple personality options to suit different control consoles and programming styles. As a hybrid between a moving head and an LED pixel light, the Ayrton MagicDot SX offers lighting designers a unique and powerful tool that combines the positional accuracy and optical control of a moving light with the instant color mixing and low power consumption of LED technology, enabling creative possibilities for stage, concert, and architectural lighting.
