The MDX 2000 is an analog audio processor designed to manage audio levels and enhance the dynamic characteristics of sound signals. Each of its two independent channels features dedicated controls for the expander/gate, compressor/limiter, and peak limiter sections. The unit incorporates Behringer's proprietary Interactive Knee Adaptation (IKA) circuitry for program-adaptive compression that seamlessly blends "hard knee" and "soft knee" characteristics, resulting in more musical and less audible compression.
