Behringer X32 COMPACT-UL Compact 40-Input, 25-Bus Digital Mixing Console

The Behringer X32 COMPACT is a professional digital mixing console designed for live sound, studio recording, theater, broadcast, and installed audio applications. It provides 40 input channels, 25 buses, 16 programmable MIDAS-designed microphone preamps, and 17 fully motorized 100 mm faders, giving operators extensive hands-on control in a relatively compact console format. The mixer incorporates a 7-inch 800 x 480-pixel color TFT display alongside 17 programmable LCD scribble strips for channel and bus identification. Its 40-channel mix engine can handle up to 152 signal sources, while the integrated processing architecture provides extensive EQ, dynamics, routing, and effects capabilities.

The X32 COMPACT features 32 x 32-channel USB 2.0 audio interfacing, allowing multichannel recording and playback with a computer-based DAW. Its connectivity includes dual AES50 ports for digital stagebox expansion, with support for up to six S16 digital stage boxes in a complete system, as well as ULTRANET connectivity for compatible personal-monitoring equipment. The console also includes eight stereo FX engines, MIDI connectivity, Ethernet networking, and extensive internal routing. The MIDAS-designed microphone preamps provide a 72 dB programmable gain range in 0.5 dB steps and support maximum input levels up to +23 dBu.

Remote operation is a major part of the X32 COMPACT design. The console can be controlled through X32-Edit software for PC, Mac, and Linux, as well as X32-Mix for iPad and X32-Q for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android devices. The system supports up to 100 scenes, while the motorized faders automatically recall stored positions when scenes are loaded. Its onboard processing also includes a 100-band real-time analyzer, advanced scene/snippet management, and a range of modeled effects. This combination of physical controls, motorized automation, network control, and extensive digital routing makes the X32 COMPACT suitable for demanding professional production workflows.
