About the Belden Grass Valley 8500/8800 Audio/Visual Module

The Belden Grass Valley 8500/8800 Series Audio/Visual Module is a robust, professional-grade 2RU modular frame system designed for high-density signal distribution. Widely utilized in professional broadcasting and video production environments, this chassis serves as a highly reliable hub for analog video and AES/EBU signal routing. When populated with compatible distribution amplifier cards, such as the 8501 video DA card, it transforms into a powerful multi-channel distribution system capable of handling complex signal fan-outs and short cable runs with exceptional stability.

Engineered for demanding continuous operation, the 8800 frame boasts a versatile architecture that can accommodate up to 10 individual processing cards alongside dedicated 8500PS power supply modules. This modularity allows engineers to customize the unit for specific production needs, whether distributing standard definition (SD) video, coaxial audio, or color black and subcarrier references. Its proven reliability and high-isolation inputs make it an enduring staple in television studios, film sets, and professional rack-mounted AV setups requiring uncompromising signal integrity.
