Blackmagic Design BMD-DWCSWA/MODC360P Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P

$3,245.00

Designed for the film and television industry, the Ethernet Switch 360P from Blackmagic Design provides extremely high performance plus low latency. This Switch incorporates 16 fast 10G Ethernet ports and two extremely high-speed 100G Ethernet QSFP sockets for copper cables or optical fiber modules. The front has a built-in panel that you can use to set up 2110 IP multicasting using familiar video routing, so you don't need a team of IT technicians. This switch looks like a router at the front with a control panel, buttons, display, and wheel and like an Ethernet switch at the back. It supports SMPTE 2110 video and provides sixteen 10GbE and two 100GbE RJ45 ports that are located on the back for easier cable management. Suitable for complex configurations, the Internet Switch 360P is ideal for fly-pack and small broadcast truck use. A speed graph is visible on the monitor output for each port and dynamic labels for connected 2110 devices are displayed in alphabetical order on the front screen for quick identification.

About the Blackmagic Design BMD-DWCSWA/MODC360P Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P

The Blackmagic Design Ethernet Switch 360P is a professional-grade, high-performance network switch specifically engineered for demanding video production environments that utilize SMPTE ST 2110 and other IP-based media workflows. As a fully managed Layer 2+ switch, it provides the low-latency, high-bandwidth, and precise timing required for transporting uncompressed video, audio, and data over a standard Ethernet network. It is designed to serve as the core networking infrastructure in broadcast facilities, live production trucks, and post-production houses transitioning to or operating within an all-IP ecosystem.

A critical feature of this switch is its comprehensive support for Precision Time Protocol (PTP), specifically PTP profiles used in professional media (like PTPv2 according to SMPTE ST 2059-2). This ensures all connected devices—such as cameras, routers, and converters—are perfectly synchronized, which is essential for glitch-free switching and processing of IP video streams. The 360P model offers a high port count, including a mix of 1GbE, 10GbE (SFP+), and 25GbE/40GbE/100GbE uplink ports to handle varying bandwidth needs and facilitate scalable network design. It includes advanced quality of service (QoS) features to prioritize media traffic and ensure consistent performance.

Housed in a robust rackmount chassis with redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fans, the switch is built for 24/7 reliability in mission-critical broadcast operations. Management is performed through a command-line interface (CLI) or a web-based graphical user interface (GUI), allowing network engineers to configure VLANs, multicast routing, and traffic shaping. By providing a purpose-built, broadcast-centric networking solution, the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P offers the stability and performance necessary to replace traditional SDI routers with flexible, scalable IP networks.
