Blonder Tongue BIDA 100A-30 Two-Way Broadband Indoor Distribution Amplifier (30dB, 49-1000MHz)

$0.00

The BIDA 100A-30 amplifier is configured for two-way operation with a passive sub-channel return path for 5 to 36MHz bandpass. The return gain is about 20dB when it is in active mode. Lower operating gains can be achieved by adjusting the variable attenuator. This model can be attenuated over a range of 10dB in the forward path and 18dB in the return path. Gain and slope controls are located on the front panel for easy set-up and adjustment. Two -30dB back-matched test points are provided to allow testing without service interruption.

About the Blonder Tongue BIDA 100A-30 Two-Way Broadband Indoor Distribution Amplifier (30dB, 49-1000MHz)

The Blonder Tongue BIDA-100A-30 is a high-performance, two-way broadband indoor distribution amplifier engineered for modern MATV (Master Antenna Television) and cable distribution systems that require bidirectional communication. It amplifies and distributes forward path signals (downstream, from the source to the user) from 49 MHz to 1000 MHz, covering the entire spectrum of analog and digital broadcast television, FM radio, and cable television channels. Simultaneously, it provides a transparent, passive return path for upstream signals (from the user to the source) in the 5-42 MHz band, which is essential for supporting interactive cable services, video on demand, cable modems, and set-top box communication in institutional and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) installations. This bidirectional capability makes it a future-proof component for systems requiring subscriber interactivity.

The amplifier is designed for robust, continuous operation, providing 30 dB of adjustable gain in the forward path to compensate for significant splitting losses and coaxial cable attenuation over long distribution networks. Its internal circuitry utilizes low-noise, high-linearity amplification stages to maintain signal integrity and minimize composite second order (CSO) and composite triple beat (CTB) distortions, which are critical for preserving the quality of digital QAM and ATSC signals. The unit typically includes adjustable slope control (tilt) to equalize signal levels across the broad frequency range, ensuring uniform performance on all channels. Each of its multiple outputs is independently isolated to prevent load interactions and system oscillations, enhancing overall network stability.

Housed in a sturdy metal enclosure suitable for wall or rack mounting, the BIDA-100A-30 features F-type connectors for all input and output ports. It includes built-in surge protection on the input to guard against voltage transients, and is powered by a standard external AC adapter for safe and flexible installation. With its combination of high forward gain, transparent return path, and professional-grade construction, this amplifier serves as a reliable central distribution hub for hotels, hospitals, campuses, and apartment complexes, ensuring strong, clear TV and data signals are delivered to every outlet while supporting the two-way functionality required by modern cable operators and telecommunications services.
