About the BSS Soundweb London BLU-806 Signal Processor
The BSS Soundweb London BLU-806 is a high-density, configurable digital signal processor (DSP) designed as a central processing hub for complex commercial audio systems. As part of the Soundweb London family, it provides 8 analog inputs and 6 analog outputs on balanced XLR connectors, along with extensive digital audio networking via the proprietary BLU-Link digital audio bus. This allows multiple BLU devices to be daisy-chained over a single Cat-5e cable, creating a synchronized, low-latency network capable of distributing hundreds of audio channels. The processor is loaded with the same powerful processing algorithms found in larger London units, offering comprehensive tools for mixing, routing, filtering, dynamics processing, and matrix mixing, all configurable through the intuitive HiQnet London Architect software.
The BLU-806 is engineered for reliability in 24/7 operation, featuring a robust metal chassis, redundant power supply inputs, and comprehensive fault monitoring. Its processing power is dedicated to audio, with no general-purpose operating system, ensuring deterministic latency and stability critical for live sound and installed applications. The device supports a wide range of system architectures, from simple stand-alone processing to being a node in a massive, distributed audio network spanning an entire campus or stadium. Control and monitoring can be executed from the London Architect software or integrated into third-party control systems via its Ethernet, RS-232, and GPIO interfaces.
Ideal for performing arts centers, corporate auditoriums, houses of worship, and broadcast facilities, the BLU-806 provides the processing muscle and connectivity needed to manage sophisticated sound reinforcement, zoning, and acoustic optimization. Its combination of ample I/O, powerful DSP, and seamless networking makes it a versatile and scalable solution for system integrators designing high-performance, future-proof audio infrastructures.
