The Canon WUX500ST is a professional short-throw LCOS projector engineered for installation applications where distance from the screen is limited but image quality cannot be compromised. Producing 5000 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ratio at native WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution, this model leverages Canon's proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) optical technology to deliver crisp, vibrant images with outstanding color reproduction typically associated with larger, more expensive installation projectors. From just over four feet (approximately one meter) away, the projector produces a massive 100-inch diagonal image, making it a compelling solution for museums, galleries, corporate boardrooms, higher education lecture halls, and simulation environments requiring unobtrusive placement.

Installation flexibility is a defining characteristic of the WUX500ST. The projector's motorized lens shift provides 0 to 75 percent vertical travel and 10 percent horizontal adjustment, allowing precise image positioning without physically relocating the chassis. The ability to install the projector in 360-degree vertical orientation expands mounting possibilities in challenging architectural spaces, while four-point independent keystone correction ensures that images remain correctly proportioned and in focus even when the projector must be angled toward the screen. Built-in HDBaseT connectivity delivers uncompressed HD video, audio, Ethernet, and control signals through a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable up to 100 meters. Additional network management support includes PJLink, Crestron, and Extron compatibility for seamless integration into automated control systems.

The projector incorporates a 280-watt super high-pressure mercury lamp offering up to 5000 hours of life in power saver mode. The lamp's 395-watt power consumption in full output mode dissipates up to 1,246 BTU/hr of heat. Fan noise remains a modest 38 dB in full power mode and drops to a quieter 30 dB when operating in power saver mode. The 5-watt mono loudspeaker provides basic audio monitoring functionality, and the compact chassis measures 337mm wide, 136mm high, and 415mm deep, weighing just 6.3 kilograms (13.9 pounds).
