Christie DHD800 Color Wheel Assembly

The Christie 610-350-7156 Color Wheel Assembly is a critical OEM optical component designed specifically for high-brightness, single-chip DLP projectors, most notably the Christie DHD800, as well as its sister models, the Sanyo DHT8000L and Eiki EIP-HDT30.

Because single-chip DLP projectors rely on a rapidly spinning disc of dichroic glass filters to sequentially separate white light from the projector lamp into distinct color segments, the color wheel is constantly subjected to extreme heat and high-RPM mechanical stress. Over thousands of hours of operation, the wheel's internal motor bearings can dry out and fail (causing a loud, high-pitched whining noise), or the glass segments themselves can crack from thermal shock. When this happens, the projector will display severe color distortion, flash violently, or trigger a complete system shutdown.
