About the Clear-Com MS-232 Main Station Intercom

The Clear-Com MS-232 is a professional-grade, two-channel main station intercom designed to serve as the primary communications hub for broadcast, theater, and live production environments. Housed in a compact, one-rack-space (1RU) chassis, it features a built-in regulated 2-amp power supply capable of supporting up to 60 headset beltpacks or 20 speaker stations simultaneously across its two channels. Engineered to maintain Clear-Com's signature high speech intelligibility in both quiet and extremely noisy environments, the unit is equipped with individual mic preamps, built-in limiters, and specialized speech-shaping circuits

Designed for flexible deployment in fast-paced production workflows, the MS-232 offers highly versatile monitoring and routing options. Operators can communicate on Channel A, Channel B, or link both channels together for full-cast rehearsals using the front panel switches. It incorporates an automatic "fail-safe" circuit that instantly isolates short circuits or electrical overloads to a single channel, ensuring the rest of the intercom system remains operational while the fault is addressed. Additionally, it features advanced control tools, including visual and audible call signaling, a balanced program audio input with IFB (Interruptible Foldback) capabilities, and a Global Remote Mic Kill (RMK) switch to instantly mute open microphones on connected Series 500 beltpacks.
