Description
The Countryman Type 10S Stereo Direct Box can be used to connect the output of any high impedance instrument, such as a keyboard or guitar, to a balanced XLR microphone input, allowing you to send signal to a mixer or mic preamp from your high impedance instrument. It features a 1/4" and RCA input per channel, as well as a gold-plated stereo 1/8" input. The unit also has two 1/4" throughputs, allowing you to run a high impedance signal to an amplifier. The two balanced XLR outputs allow you to run your signal to any standard mic level input.
The Type 10S is designed with a flat frequency response from 10Hz to 50kHz with a linear phase response within two degrees for its range. This provides an accurate transient response, resulting in a transfer of your signal that is faithful to the source. The Type 10S features an active circuit, powered by 48 volt phantom power or an internal nine-volt battery. The active circuit allows your signal to pass through the direct box without being padded, as with passive boxes, and results in lowered noise and interference.
