About the Crestron HD-RX-USB-2000-C HDMI Signal Extender

The Crestron HD-RX-USB-2000-C is a high-performance HDMI over HDBaseT receiver unit, part of a complete extension system designed to transmit uncompressed high-definition video, audio, USB 2.0, and control signals over a single CAT6/6a cable for distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). This receiver works in conjunction with a compatible Crestron HDBaseT transmitter to create a robust point-to-point extension link, ideal for professional AV installations in boardrooms, classrooms, digital signage, and control rooms. Its primary function is to reconstruct the original HDMI signal at the display location, delivering pristine 4K/UHD video with multi-channel audio, while simultaneously extending USB connectivity for interactive peripherals like touchscreens, keyboards, mice, and webcams back to the source device. This integration allows for a fully functional, remote user experience as if the source were locally connected.

The system leverages the HDBaseT standard to consolidate multiple signal types onto one cable, dramatically simplifying installation by reducing cable clutter and eliminating the need for separate extenders for video, audio, and data. The HD-RX-USB-2000-C receiver is particularly noted for its support of high-bandwidth video formats, including 4K at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and HDR (High Dynamic Range) metadata, ensuring compatibility with the latest display technologies. It also features bi-directional IR and RS-232 pass-through, enabling control of the source device from the display location and vice versa. Power can be supplied to the receiver via Power over HDBaseT (PoH), where the transmitter provides power over the same CAT cable, or through a local power adapter, offering installation flexibility.

Housed in a compact, discreet enclosure, the receiver is designed for easy integration behind displays or within furniture. Setup and configuration are streamlined, often requiring no user adjustment as the transmitter and receiver automatically negotiate the optimal signal parameters. For system integrators using the Crestron ecosystem, this extender can be seamlessly discovered and managed through Crestron control systems. By providing reliable, long-distance transmission of high-bandwidth audiovisual and USB signals over a single, affordable cable, the Crestron HD-RX-USB-2000-C enables clean, flexible, and future-proof AV system designs.
