The Crestron DIN-1DIMU4 is a four-channel universal lighting control module designed for professional DIN rail mounting within Crestron automation systems. This versatile dimmer module supports both forward (leading edge) and reverse (trailing edge) phase dimming, making it compatible with a wide array of lighting load types including incandescent, electronic low-voltage (ELV), magnetic low-voltage, neon/cold cathode, 2-wire dimmable fluorescent, and non-dimmable lighting fixtures. The single module accepts line power from 120 to 240 Volts at 50/60 Hz, providing installation flexibility across international electrical standards.

Each of the four channels features intelligent auto load detection capability, automatically identifying the connected dimmable load type and selecting the appropriate operating mode. Reverse phase mode supports incandescent and electronic low-voltage loads, while forward phase mode handles magnetic low-voltage, neon, and other inductive load types. Any channel may be independently configured for any mode, allowing one module to control four entirely different lighting types on separate circuits. A selectable non-dim mode is also available for simple switching of non-dimmable fixtures.

The module incorporates several professional-grade protection and convenience features. Built-in short circuit and overcurrent protection safeguards against excessive loading or improper wiring. When all four channels are turned fully off, a primary internal master relay automatically opens, providing air-gap isolation for safe servicing and lamp replacement on all controlled circuits. An override input accepts an external low-voltage contact closure to momentarily bypass the control system program and set each channel to a predetermined override preset level, with levels configurable locally via front panel or remotely through software.

The DIN-1DIMU4 communicates with Crestron control systems via the Cresnet wired control network, featuring two paralleled 4-pin 3.5mm terminal blocks for easy daisy-chaining of multiple DIN Rail series modules. Setup is accomplished through front-panel controls with LED status indicators or via software configuration. The aluminum enclosure measures 3.71 inches in height, 8.48 inches in width, and 2.35 inches in depth, weighing approximately 2.23 pounds. It is designed to snap onto standard 35mm DIN EN 60715 rail, occupying 12 DIN module spaces (216mm width), with a DIN 43880 form factor for enclosures featuring 45mm front panel cutouts. Proper ventilation is essential, with recommended spacing of 4 to 6 inches above and below for heat dissipation when fully loaded.
