Crestron DMC-HD-DSP HDMI Input Card

The Crestron DMC-HD-DSP is a modular HDMI input card engineered specifically for integration into Crestron's card-based DigitalMedia (DM) matrix switchers, including the DM-MD8X8, DM-MD16X16, and DM-MD32X32 models. It provides a single, high-bandwidth HDMI input capable of handling uncompressed high-definition video signals up to 1080p60 Full HD and computer resolutions up to WUXGA. Fully compliant with modern content protection standards, the card natively supports HDCP, Deep Color, and 3D video. Additionally, it features a dedicated HDMI pass-through output, allowing integrators to route the localized input signal directly to a nearby confidence monitor or secondary audio processor without occupying an output slot on the main switcher backplane.

What distinguishes the DMC-HD-DSP from standard input cards is its highly advanced, built-in digital signal processing (DSP) engine. Powered by a Cirrus Logic HD audio decoder, the card is capable of taking a high-bitrate multichannel surround sound signal—such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio—and simultaneously downmixing it into a 2-channel stereo signal. This allows the system to pass the full 7.1 surround sound audio to a dedicated home theater zone via HDMI while concurrently sending the 2-channel analog downmix to distributed house audio amplifiers via the card's RCA outputs. It also includes a dedicated USB HID port, enabling remote keyboard and mouse control over the AV network.
