The CSI Pure Digital Fiberlink Optical Distribution Amplifiers (primarily encompassing the Fiberlink 8000 Series) are professional-grade optical routing devices originally manufactured by Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI), which is now part of Artel Video Systems. These devices are engineered to take a single optical input signal—which can contain multiplexed video, audio, and data—and actively distribute it to multiple optical outputs for point-to-multipoint routing in broadcast, professional AV, and digital signage environments.

Unlike passive optical splitters that physically divide the light (thereby reducing the optical power and limiting transmission distance), the Fiberlink distribution amplifiers actively regenerate the optical signal. This ensures that the baseband video or audio signal experiences absolutely zero degradation, allowing each output to travel the maximum distance supported by the fiber type. Because they operate entirely within the optical domain, the signals remain completely immune to electrical interference, video ground loops, and RF noise. The 8000 Series is highly modular and comes in various configurations (such as 1x4 or 1x8 models) to accommodate different wavelengths (e.g., 850nm, 1310nm, 1550nm) and fiber types (Single-mode or Multimode).
