D&b Audiotechnik V12 3-way Passive Line Array Loudspeaker

$4,895.00

The V12 is a 3-way passive design housing 2 x 10" LF drivers, one hornloaded 8" MF driver and two 1.4" exit HF compression drivers with 2.5" voicecoils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. The symmetrical dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers around the centrally mounted coaxial MF and HF components allows a smooth overlap of the adjacent frequency bands in the crossover design. This results in an exceptional 120° horizontal constant directivity dispersion control nominally being maintained down to 250 Hz. The mechanical and acoustical design enables flown vertical arrays of up to twenty four loudspeakers. It can be used in columns of purely V12 loudspeakers or combined with V8s and / or with V-SUBs.

About the D&b Audiotechnik V12 3-way Passive Line Array Loudspeaker

The d&b audiotechnik V12 is a powerful, three-way passive line array loudspeaker designed for medium to large-scale applications requiring high output, exceptional clarity, and versatile deployment options. It stands as the largest model in the acclaimed V-Series, integrating a sophisticated three-way design within a compact trapezoidal enclosure that houses a dedicated 12-inch low-frequency driver, a 5-inch mid-range driver, and a 1.4-inch exit compression driver mounted on a rotatable waveguide. This dedicated three-way architecture ensures optimal bandwidth management, resulting in superior transient response, minimal intermodulation distortion, and extended power handling compared to conventional two-way systems. The V12 delivers a full-range, coherent sound with authoritative low-end extension, detailed midrange, and crisp, controlled high frequencies, making it a premier choice for main front-of-house arrays in theatres, houses of worship, and touring productions, as well as for demanding side-fill and stage monitor applications.

A defining characteristic of the V12 is its dual deployment capability, facilitated by the rotatable waveguide and symmetrical cabinet design. It can be arrayed vertically for long-throw applications, providing precise vertical control to deliver consistent sound pressure levels over distance. When configured horizontally, the waveguide rotates to provide a wide, even horizontal dispersion pattern, making it exceptionally effective as a front-fill array, under-balcony system, or for distributed coverage in wide venues. This adaptability allows system designers to meet complex acoustic challenges with a single, consistent loudspeaker model. When combined with d&b's proprietary ArrayProcessing—available through compatible D-Series or 30D amplifiers—the V12 arrays achieve optimized wavefront alignment and seamless frequency response across the entire array, ensuring uniform tonal balance and intelligibility throughout the audience area.

Built to withstand the rigors of professional use, the V12 features a rugged enclosure constructed from multi-layered birch plywood with a durable, textured coating. The integrated, color-coded rigging hardware adheres to d&b's SAFE-rigging principles, enabling rapid, secure, and error-free array assembly. The loudspeaker is designed to be powered by d&b amplifiers, which supply the precise, system-specific processing and control necessary to unlock its full performance potential, including thermal and excursion protection. The d&b V12 represents the pinnacle of the V-Series, offering audio professionals a powerful, scalable, and sonically transparent solution that delivers the renowned d&b signature of clarity, reliability, and precise control for the most demanding sound reinforcement environments.
