D&B Audiotechnik V8 3-Way Passive Line Array Loudspeaker

$4,495.00

The V8 is a 3-way passive design housing 2 x 10" LF drivers, one hornloaded 8" MF driver and two 1.4" exit HF compression drivers with 2.5" voicecoils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. The symmetrical dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers around the centrally mounted coaxial MF and HF components allows a smooth overlap of the adjacent frequency bands in the crossover design. This results in an exceptional 80° horizontal constant directivity dispersion control nominally being maintained down to 250 Hz.

About the D&B Audiotechnik V8 3-Way Passive Line Array Loudspeaker

The d&b audiotechnik V8 is a compact, high-performance three-way passive line array loudspeaker designed for applications requiring exceptional sonic clarity and versatile deployment in a smaller format. As part of the V-Series, it integrates advanced acoustic engineering into a trapezoidal enclosure housing a dedicated 8-inch low-frequency driver, a 5-inch mid-range driver, and a 1.4-inch exit compression driver on a rotatable waveguide. This three-way design ensures dedicated bandwidth management, resulting in superior transient response, reduced intermodulation distortion, and enhanced power handling compared to typical two-way designs. The V8 delivers a balanced, full-range sound with precise detail and high output, making it an ideal choice for premium front-fill, compact main arrays for small to mid-sized venues, corporate events, and as a side-fill monitor for stages where space is limited but audio quality cannot be compromised.

A key feature of the V8 is its dual deployment capability, enabled by the rotatable waveguide and symmetrical cabinet design. It can be arrayed vertically for traditional front-of-house applications, providing controlled vertical dispersion for consistent audience coverage. Alternatively, it can be deployed horizontally, where the waveguide rotates to provide wide, even horizontal dispersion, making it perfect for under-balcony fills, front-fill arrays, or distributed systems. This flexibility allows system designers to address complex coverage challenges with a single, consistent loudspeaker model. The enclosures array seamlessly with precise, incremental angle adjustments, and when driven by recommended d&b amplification with integrated ArrayProcessing, the system achieves optimized wavefront alignment and frequency response consistency across the entire array, ensuring uniform sound pressure and tonal balance throughout the coverage area.

Constructed from multi-layered birch plywood with a rugged, textured finish, the V8 is built to withstand the demands of both touring and fixed installation. Its integrated, color-coded rigging hardware follows d&b's SAFE-rigging principles, allowing for quick, secure, and intuitive array assembly. The loudspeaker is designed to be powered by d&b D-Series or 30D amplifiers, which supply the precise system-specific processing, limiting, and equalization needed to unlock its full performance potential. The d&b V8 stands as a powerful example of focused engineering, providing audio professionals with a compact, adaptable, and sonically transparent tool that delivers the renowned d&b clarity and reliability in a format suited for a wide spectrum of professional sound reinforcement scenarios.
