Datavideo MCU-200S Rackmount Camera Controller

The Datavideo MCU-200S is a professional, 1RU rack-mountable Multi-Camera Control Unit (CCU) designed to remotely configure and control up to four Sony broadcast camcorders simultaneously. Ideal for OB vans, live production setups, and broadcast studios, the MCU-200S eliminates the need for camera operators to manually adjust settings on individual cameras. Instead, a single technical director or shader can match the exposure, color, and black levels across multiple cameras from one centralized location.

The system works by using a standard CAT-5e or CAT-6 Ethernet cable to connect the main MCU-200S control unit to a Datavideo AD-1S adapter, which is attached directly to the camera's CAM/BS (or remote) port. This setup translates the control signals over an RS-422 differential line, allowing the remote unit to be placed at massive distances—ranging from 300 meters up to 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) away from the camera. The AD-1S adapters also feature a CVBS (Composite) output, enabling the operator to connect a local confidence monitor to view the camera's OSD menus and verify settings in real time.
