The Doug Fleenor Design DMX6REL1A 6-Channel DMX512 Controlled Low Voltage Relay Pack provides DMX512 control for low voltage, switch closure devices such as fog machines, slide projectors, and fans. This unit employs dry contact air-gap relays, which provide a true "off" state, meaning no current leakage when the circuit is open. This makes the DMX6REL1A suitable for applications requiring a verifiable power kill, unlike solid-state relays, which may leak a small amount of current even when off. The mechanical design of the air-gap relays, while reliable for their specified use, means they have a finite lifespan and should not be used in applications requiring rapid on-off cycling (such as chase effects). The relay pack is housed in a durable metal chassis with a black front and clear iridite aluminum bottom chassis, and an optional 19" rack adapter is available. The starting DMX address for the unit is set via three front-panel switches, and LED indicators provide status on power, signal presence, and individual relay closure.
