The DSan LSP-2 Laptop SoundPort is a compact, highly versatile audio adapter—essentially a specialized Direct Box (DI)—designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between consumer electronics and professional house audio systems. It is primarily used to take the unbalanced audio signal from a laptop or mobile device and convert it into a balanced, mic-level signal that can be sent over long cable runs to an audio mixing console without introducing noise or signal degradation.

What sets the LSP-2 apart from standard DI boxes is its input versatility and onboard monitoring tools. Users can source the audio using the attached 5-foot 1/8-inch (3.5mm) analog stereo cable, or they can plug it in via USB to bypass the computer's often noisy internal soundcard and capture a pristine digital audio signal directly. The unit outputs to two standard XLR male connectors, allowing the audio to be sent as a left/right stereo spread or summed into a single mono signal via a physical switch. It also features a dedicated headphone loop-through, allowing the presenter or AV technician to monitor the audio locally while muting the main feed to the house speakers.
