The MicroWedge MW10 is a collaboration between original MicroWedge Series inventor Dave “Rat” Levine (owner of Rat Sound Systems, Inc.) and the EAW Engineering Department, resulting in dramatically upgraded performance and ergonomics. The coaxial design pairs a 10-inch woofer with a 2.5-inch voice-coil compression driver to provide full yet controlled 90-degree conical dispersion.

All frequencies emanate from the exact same point, eliminating crossover region problems and time/phase irregularities, as well as optimizing coherency. The coaxial approach also contributes to a very compact, low-profile footprint.

The port on the front of the cabinet enhances LF response in coupling with the floor. The opening also houses a convenient carrying handle and dual NL4 connectors.

The MW10 enjoys the advantage of working equally well as a stage monitor or as a console bridge monitor. It was designed with a sturdy balance so that when set upright (on its backside), it rests easily on either side of a console bridge. A conveniently located pair of NL4 connectors further simplifies console setup. An optional pole mount is also available.

The Baltic birch cabinets are available in a black or white finish. The black monitors are protected with EAW’s RoadCoat™ which provides a black finish and tremendous scratch resistance. The white monitors are coated in an extremely durable latex finish. The rugged steel grill keeps its distinctive shape even if stood upon. Points for Omni-mount plates are located on the bottom of the MW10 to aid in hanging the monitors.

For applications that require enhanced performance, the MW10 can be optimized using the EAW UX8800 digital signal processor.

The EAW MW10-WT is a professional two-way full-range passive stage monitor designed to provide clear, articulate foldback for performers on stage. Housed in a durable, compact enclosure with a white finish, it is built to withstand the rigors of touring and daily use while offering a visually clean appearance. The monitor utilizes a 10-inch woofer for solid low-mid reproduction and a 1.4-inch titanium compression driver on a wide-dispersion horn for crisp high frequencies. This component combination delivers a balanced sound with the emphasis on mid-range clarity, which is essential for performers to hear themselves accurately—be it vocals, guitars, or keyboards—over the stage volume and main PA system. Its design prioritizes feedback resistance and even coverage across the stage area directly in front of the wedge.

Engineered with practical performance in mind, the enclosure features a trapezoidal shape that allows multiple monitors to be arrayed together seamlessly. The angled baffle is optimized to project sound upward towards the performer's ears when placed on the stage floor. The cabinet is constructed from multi-ply birch plywood with a textured white coating, providing both acoustic rigidity and durability. Integrated handles and a steel grille protect the drivers from physical damage. For connectivity, it features dual NL4 SpeakON input connectors wired in parallel for easy daisy-chaining, simplifying setup and reducing cable clutter on stage.

The MW10-WT is designed to be driven by an external power amplifier and, ideally, managed by a system processor with appropriate limiting and equalization. When used with EAW's recommended amplification and presets, its performance is optimized for monitor applications, providing reliable sound reinforcement with minimal coloration.
