The Applied Electronics 8-Channel Pistol Grip Hand-Held Remote is a highly specialized piece of theatrical rigging equipment designed to control up to eight electric chain hoists (such as CM Lodestars or Prostars) simultaneously. Placed in the hands of a professional rigger, this remote connects directly to an Applied Electronics Motor Controller (like their Rolling ATA or Wall-Mount racks) via a multi-pin control cable, allowing the operator to stand at a safe distance with a clear line of sight to the overhead truss being flown.

The "Pistol Grip" configuration is a special-order enclosure offered by Applied Electronics. Unlike the traditional Pelican case or flat yellow box remotes, the pistol grip allows the rigger to securely hold the controller in one hand while using their thumb or index finger to actuate the master "Go" switch. The face of the remote features individual directional toggle switches (Up/Down) for all eight channels.
