An Evertz 77050E-HD is a device that converts an HD quality optical signal (transmitted via fiber optic cable) back into an electrical signal, essentially allowing you to receive high definition video data that was previously transmitted over a fiber optic network; it is specifically designed for HD video standards and operates based on SMPTE 259M specifications.

The 77050E‑HD is an optical-to-electrical (O→E) converter designed for high-quality HD-SDI transport. It accepts optical signals and reconverts them into HD‑SDI or SD‑SDI serial video outputs.

This module fits into Evertz’s 7700/7800 frame enclosures (such as 1RU, 3RU, or compact frames) and supports hot‑swapping—meaning you can replace or install modules without powering down the system or disconnecting fiber or BNC cabling.
