About the Evertz 7707ADVT-HD RGBHV/DVI/KVM Option Card

The Evertz 7707ADVT-HD is a specialized, multi-format input option card designed for integration within Evertz's modular 7700 series frame systems, catering to the critical need for capturing and processing high-resolution computer video and KVM signals in broadcast, master control, and command center environments. This card serves as a versatile gateway, accepting a broad range of signal types including analog RGBHV (VGA), digital DVI-D, and USB signals for Keyboard, Video, and Mouse (KVM) extension. Its primary function is to digitize and convert these diverse input signals into a standardized, high-quality digital video stream that can be routed, switched, and processed alongside other broadcast signals within the facility's core infrastructure. This capability is essential for incorporating presentation laptops, graphics workstations, server monitor outputs, and other computer-based sources directly into a professional production switcher or multi-viewer system without requiring external converters that add latency and potential points of failure.

The card excels in handling high-resolution video formats, supporting computer resolutions up to 1920x1200 and various refresh rates, ensuring sharp, accurate capture of detailed graphics, user interfaces, and data. A key feature is its integrated KVM functionality over IP, which allows the USB peripherals connected to the card to be extended to a remote location via the network, enabling operators to control the source computer as if they were locally attached. This is particularly valuable in centralized broadcast facilities where critical servers and graphics machines are located in equipment rooms far from the production control desks. The card also performs advanced processing such as scaling and frame synchronization (genlock), aligning the incoming computer signal to the facility's house reference to prevent glitches during switching and ensuring seamless integration into live broadcasts.

Designed for reliability in 24/7 operation, the 7707ADVT-HD card is hot-swappable, allowing for maintenance or replacement without powering down the entire frame. It provides comprehensive status monitoring and control through the frame's overarching management software, giving engineers visibility into input signal parameters, card health, and KVM session status. By consolidating the capture, conversion, and extension of computer video and control signals into a single, managed card within a robust frame system, Evertz provides a streamlined, professional, and highly reliable solution for integrating the modern, computer-centric elements of production into a traditional broadcast-quality signal path.
