The Evertz AESIMP-12F is a professional-grade, 1-rack-unit (1RU) bulk impedance conversion panel designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between balanced and unbalanced AES/EBU digital audio equipment. In broadcast facilities, mobile production trucks, and large-scale recording studios, AES digital audio is frequently transmitted over long distances using standard 75-ohm coaxial cable (BNC) rather than traditional 110-ohm twisted-pair cable (XLR) due to cost, space, and existing video infrastructure. This passive panel allows technicians to interface outboard audio gear featuring standard 3-pin XLR connections directly into a facility's BNC-based digital audio routing matrix without signal reflections or degradation.

Operating entirely passively via internal conversion transformers, the AESIMP-12F requires no power supply. Because it relies on a transformer (with a 1.22:1 turns ratio), the conversion is inherently bi-directional, meaning it can translate a 110-ohm balanced signal down to a 75-ohm unbalanced signal, or vice-versa. The "12F" designation indicates that the balanced side of the panel is populated with twelve female XLR connectors, which correspond directly to twelve BNC connectors on the opposite side. The unit fully supports standard AES/EBU digital audio signals with sampling rates ranging from 22kHz up to 96kHz, ensuring bit-accurate transmission for high-resolution audio workflows.
