Extron DTP HD DA8 SERIES Distribution Amplifier

The Extron DTP HD DA8 Series (such as the DTP HD DA8 4K) is a professional-grade distribution amplifier designed to take a single HDMI video source and simultaneously distribute it to eight remote displays over long distances. Instead of relying on fragile and distance-limited copper HDMI cables, this unit utilizes Extron's proprietary DTP (twisted pair) technology to transmit high-resolution video, embedded audio, and bi-directional control signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a single shielded CATx network cable per output. This makes it an ideal central distribution hub for large-scale digital signage networks, retail environments, or massive lecture halls where multiple distant screens need to mirror the exact same content simultaneously.

Beyond simply splitting the video signal, the DTP HD DA8 is engineered to significantly simplify complex AV integrations. It features remote power capabilities, meaning it actively sends DC power down the CATx cables to run all eight of the corresponding DTP receivers at the display ends, completely eliminating the need to install bulky external power supplies behind every television. To guarantee reliable performance across the entire network, it includes Extron's EDID Minder and Key Minder technologies for seamless source-to-display handshaking and continuous HDCP authentication. Additionally, it provides a local HDMI loop-through port to easily monitor the source signal in the local AV rack or to daisy-chain the signal into a second distribution amplifier for even larger system expansions.
