The Extron DTP T USW 333 is a sophisticated, integrated presentation switcher designed for professional conference rooms and classrooms, combining source switching, long-distance signal extension, and audio embedding into a single, compact tabletop unit. This device serves as the central hub for a presentation system, offering three inputs—typically two for computers (via HDMI and VGA) and one for video (like composite video)—allowing users to easily switch between different source devices. Its defining feature is the integration of an Extron DTP (Digital Twisted Pair) transmitter, which takes the selected audio and video signal and converts it for transmission over a single CatX cable to a compatible DTP receiver located near the display, reliably sending high-resolution video and audio up to 330 feet away.

Beyond basic switching and extension, the USW 333 includes a critical audio embedding function. It features analog stereo audio inputs (RCA) that can be mixed with the selected video source, allowing for the addition of background music or a microphone feed to the presentation. This embedded audio stream is then sent along with the video over the single CatX cable, simplifying system wiring and ensuring perfect lip-sync. The switcher also integrates a professional-grade scaler, which automatically adjusts the incoming computer video resolution to match the native resolution of the connected display, ensuring an optimal, stable picture regardless of the source device's output settings.

Designed for user-friendly operation, the unit includes tactile buttons for source selection and volume control, along with clear status LEDs. It can be configured and controlled via its front panel, an included infrared remote, or integrated into a larger Extron control system via RS-232 or Ethernet. The switcher is powered over the same CatX cable by the remote DTP receiver (PoH - Power over HDBaseT), eliminating the need for a local power adapter at the table and contributing to a clean installation.
