Extron IPL PRO S6 Control Processor

The Extron IPL Pro S6 is a compact, high-performance IP Link Pro control processor designed to manage and automate AV and building management systems over a standard Ethernet network. Serving as the "brain" for medium-sized AV systems, this specialized hardware acts as an intelligent bridge between user interfaces—like Extron TouchLink Pro touchpanels or Network Button Panels—and the legacy serial equipment found in commercial AV racks. It features advanced security standards and a Gigabit Ethernet port to handle fast, secure communication across corporate networks.

The "S6" in its name denotes its specific hardware configuration: it is equipped with six bidirectional serial ports. Five of these ports are dedicated RS-232 connections, while the sixth is a highly flexible, bidirectional RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 port. This allows integrators to send direct serial commands to a wide variety of devices, such as commercial projectors, matrix switchers, DSPs, and displays, with full hardware and software handshaking for reliable control. While it can be deployed as a standalone processor using Extron's Global Configurator Plus or Professional software, it can also be grouped with larger IPCP Pro processors in highly complex, enterprise-wide systems.
