Extron OCS 100C Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor
The Extron OCS 100C is a ceiling-mounted occupancy sensor that combines two detection technologies: Passive Infrared (PIR) and Ultrasonic (US). The PIR sensor works by detecting the difference in heat generated by moving people versus the ambient room temperature, while the US sensor emits and measures the return speed of ultrasonic sound waves to detect movement. This combination ensures a wide coverage area and excellent detection capabilities, helping to avoid false triggers. The sensor is intended for use with Extron control products that have digital I/Os ports, and can also be used with optional eBUS interface accessories for connection via eBUS. It features "Smart, adaptive software" (InteliDAPT® technology) that automatically and continuously adjusts timer and sensitivity settings over time for maintenance-free operation. The OCS 100C can also be manually configured via internal DIP switches and adjustment dials for infrared sensitivity, ultrasonic range, timer, and photocell sensitivity. The integrated photocell allows the sensor to prevent connected devices, such as lights, from turning on if the room is already adequately lit by natural light.
