The Extron SSP 7.1 is a high-performance, 7.1-channel surround sound processor designed specifically for commercial AV environments, corporate screening rooms, and professional presentation spaces. Unlike consumer home theater receivers, the SSP 7.1 is engineered for seamless integration into professional AV racks, stripping away unnecessary consumer features in favor of robust signal routing, balanced audio outputs, and advanced control system compatibility. It automatically detects and decodes a wide range of surround sound formats, including high-resolution lossless audio codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio extracted directly from HDMI sources.

To interface with commercial-grade power amplifiers, the SSP 7.1 outputs all eight channels of audio as line-level, balanced or unbalanced signals via professional captive screw terminals, ensuring noise-free transmission over long cable runs. The unit features a versatile input selection, including four HDMI inputs with video pass-through, alongside optical, coaxial, and analog stereo connections. For system integrators, room tuning is highly streamlined using Extron's intuitive SSP Setup and Control Software.
