Description
The Extron USP 507 is a retired universal signal processor that combined video scaling, transcoding, and analog-digital conversion in a single 1U chassis. It featured an integrated seven-input switcher supporting virtually all common formats, from composite video to DVI and RGBHV, with optional SDI/HD-SDI input capability. The unit automatically detected incoming signal formats and applied high-performance 30-bit scaling to output resolutions up to 1920x1200 or HDTV 1080p/60.
For enhanced system flexibility, the USP 507 delivered up to four simultaneous outputs, including standard RGBHV and Extron MTP twisted pair, with optional output boards for DVI, 3G-SDI/HD-SDI, or scan-converted video. Professional presentation tools included glitch-free switching with selectable transitions and picture-in-picture mode with adjustable window positioning. Remote management was supported via RS-232 and Ethernet control, making it suitable for mixed-signal environments such as live events, medical imaging, and command centers. Please note this product has been discontinued, with the DVS 605 suggested as a replacement.
