FL-900 Support Metal

The FL-900 Ultra-Short Throw Lens (and its associated Support Metal) is a precision optical component designed for professional, large-venue DLP and Laser projectors, such as the Hitachi LP-WU9100B and CP-WU9410. Because ultra-short-throw (UST) lenses contain large, heavy glass elements that protrude significantly from the projector chassis, they place a tremendous physical load on the projector's native lens mount. The dedicated "Support Metal" (which is sometimes bundled with the lens to create the FL-920 kit) is a heavy-duty mechanical bracket designed to securely anchor the heavy FL-900 lens to the body of the projector.

By utilizing this lens and its specific metal support, AV integrators can safely deploy massive images—ranging from 100 to 350 inches diagonally—from an incredibly short distance without risking physical damage to their expensive equipment. This setup is highly favored in space-constrained commercial environments like museum exhibits, rear-projection digital signage, and corporate boardrooms where traditional long-throw projectors would cast shadows or blind presenters. The original box for the support metal typically contains the precision-machined bracket, along with all the necessary standoffs and heavy-duty screws required for a rigid, perfect fit.
