The Furman PL-8 Series II is an essential component for any professional audio, video, or broadcast rack system. It occupies a single rack unit (1RU) of space and is housed in a durable steel chassis with a black anodized aluminum front panel. The unit is designed to safeguard delicate electronic equipment by combining a high-voltage surge and transient suppressor with RFI/EMI interference filtering. Unlike many traditional surge suppressors that sacrifice their components during a surge, the Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) circuitry in the PL-8 Series II is non-sacrificial, ensuring continuous protection without needing repair after a single event.The integrated Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) works to dramatically lower AC line noise across the entire audio bandwidth, which helps eliminate pops, crackles, hum, and general static that can contaminate the AC line. This results in a quieter noise floor and cleaner performance for sensitive audio/video components. For convenience in dimly lit environments, the unit features dual, front-panel, retractable LED lights with a dimmer control to illuminate the rest of the rack gear below it.
