Purpose-built as an Assemble-to-Order (ATO) base unit, this system functions as a high-reliability "Channel-in-a-Box" (CiaB) and integrated channel playout (ICP) node. It unifies multi-channel baseband ingest, file-based conversions, and master control switching into a highly scalable, software-defined IT server architecture.

Operating on a secure, hardened Linux operating system, this server base is engineered to bridge traditional SDI infrastructure with next-generation IP production. The SPX-BASE-ATO serves as the processing core that runs Harmonic’s advanced video playout codecs, sophisticated HTML5 graphic branding, and multi-layer digital video effects (DVE). Designed to prevent on-air downtime, the server hardware supports direct interoperability with external shared storage ecosystems or can be loaded with high-capacity internal solid-state arrays for completely standalone edge playout.
