Description

The Hosa CDL-313 is a professional digital audio interface designed to bridge the gap between S/PDIF coaxial and AES/EBU digital audio formats in professional studio and installation environments. This compact utility device enables simultaneous bi-directional conversion, allowing two channels of digital audio to transfer seamlessly between equipment with RCA coaxial S/PDIF connections and XLR AES/EBU connections without ever leaving the digital domain. Supporting sample rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz, the CDL-313 ensures pristine audio quality remains intact when interconnecting digital audio workstations, DAT recorders, sound cards, and other professional audio gear with mismatched digital I/O formats.

Designed for practical studio integration, the CDL-313 features independent input and output connectors for both formats, enabling simultaneous conversion in either or both directions as required by the application. The interface automatically disables the Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) when transferring from S/PDIF to AES/EBU, eliminating copy protection restrictions for professional use. Housed in a compact, lightweight enclosure measuring just 3.19 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches, this interface includes an AC adapter for reliable mains power and provides an inexpensive, indispensable solution for digital audio recordists navigating mixed-format equipment inventories.
