About the Impact Radio Accessories VY1A-G1W 1-Wire Surveillance

The Impact Radio Accessories VY1A-G1W (part of the Gold Series) is a professional-grade, 1-wire surveillance earpiece kit designed specifically to interface with Vertex Standard and Yaesu two-way radios.

Because retail workers, hospitality staff, and security personnel working in warm weather or wearing short sleeves need a discreet way to communicate without running multiple heavy cables beneath their clothing, standard 2-wire or 3-wire surveillance kits are often bulky and uncomfortable. The 1-wire configuration of the G1W solves this by running a single cable from the radio to a combined microphone and Push-To-Talk (PTT) unit clipped to the lapel or shirt collar, with a short wire continuing directly up to the ear. This maintains a clean, professional appearance while eliminating excessive cable clutter.
