Description

The HDMI Full HD Extender over Cat6 (196') from KanexPro enables you to transmit and receive DVI/HDMI signals over distances further than those of standard HDMI/DVI cables, extending video and audio over a single Cat6/6a cable (not included). The HDMI Extender enables you to transmit a robust signal from an HDMI source (such as a Blu-ray device, cable box, or laptop) to a remotely-located display. The included IR-blaster extension cables help to maintain remote control over distant devices. The signal can be auto-adjusted, buffered, and equalized for optimal resolutions up to HD 1080p60. The HDMI Extender over Cat6 is suitable for small office, house of worship, and home theater Cat6 setups where the HDMI source device is located at a remote distance from the display. This HDCP and EDID compliant extender supports a 16-bit per channel rate (48-bit total). It features digital audio support via HDMI, and full IR control over Cat6/6a. The transmitter's HDMI-out port is a handy feature that enables you to preview output on a local display. Both transmitter and receiver are compact in form, and have built-in mounting brackets. The KanexPro EXT-HD60M is a compact, point-to-point HDMI extender kit designed to transmit uncompressed Full HD 1080p video and digital audio over a single standard network cable up to 196 feet (60 meters). Serving as a staple utility for home theaters, houses of worship, and digital signage, it bridges the gap between a central AV equipment rack and a distant projector or flat-panel display.

Because standard copper HDMI cables begin to suffer severe signal degradation and "sparkle" artifacts when pushed past 50 feet—and are notoriously difficult to snake through tight conduit due to their large molded connector heads—AV installers rely on active baluns to translate the signal. The EXT-HD60M solves the distance limitation by actively converting the high-bandwidth HDMI data to run over bulk CAT6 cable, which can easily be pulled through walls and terminated on-site to the exact inch required.
