About the Kino Flo DIV-400-120U Diva-Lite Universal One Light Kit

The Kino Flo Diva-Lite 400 Universal (DIV-400-120U) is an industry-standard fluorescent lighting kit revered by documentary filmmakers and news crews for its incredibly soft, flattering, and broad wash of light. Serving as the ultimate on-the-go interview light, it utilizes four 55-watt True Match compact fluorescent lamps to wrap the subject in a beautiful, soft glow that mimics natural window light, making it a staple for corporate video, portraiture, and electronic news gathering (ENG).

Because traditional hot lights (like tungstens) create uncomfortable heat and harsh shadows in small interview spaces, the Diva-Lite became legendary for remaining cool to the touch even after hours of continuous operation. The "Universal" designation in this specific model signifies that its built-in ballast is auto-sensing from 100 to 240 volts, allowing a traveling crew to plug the light directly into a wall socket anywhere in the world without requiring a heavy, external power transformer.
