About the Kramer PT-571HDCP DVI Line Transmitter

The Kramer PT-571HDCP is a highly compact, professional-grade DGKat twisted-pair transmitter designed to take standard DVI-D video signals and extend them over long distances. As part of Kramer’s ultra-compact PicoTOOLS line, it operates as the sending end of an extension system, passing the converted DVI signal over a single shielded twisted pair (STP) network cable to a paired receiver unit (such as the PT-572HDCP+), which translates it back into a standard DVI output.

Because native DVI video cables suffer from severe signal degradation after just 15 to 20 feet and feature bulky, unremovable connector heads that are nearly impossible to pull through tight conduit, AV integrators need a better way to route video to distant projectors or displays. The PT-571HDCP solves this by leveraging Kramer's DGKat technology to convert the uncompressed digital video—along with control and communication signals—so it can travel over standard, easy-to-terminate shielded CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT7 cabling up to 295 feet without dropping a frame.
