About the Lowel Omni & Tota Lighting Kit

The Lowel Omni & Tota Lighting Kit is a legendary, ultra-portable tungsten-halogen lighting package that served as the absolute backbone of documentary filmmaking, run-and-gun news gathering (ENG), and corporate video production for decades. Rather than hauling massive, heavy studio fresnels onto a location, this kit provides a complete multi-point lighting setup that folds down into a single, highly rugged briefcase-sized carrying case.

Because these fixtures rely on raw, high-wattage quartz-halogen bulbs, they generate an immense amount of light (and physical heat) relative to their tiny physical footprint. The classic combination pairs the incredibly wide, flood-style illumination of the Tota-light for bouncing and fill, with the focusable, directional punch of the Omni-light for keying and edge lighting, giving a single operator all the tools needed to light a professional interview on the fly.
