The Lumantek EZ-MD+ HDMI/SDI Cross Converter is a compact, versatile signal conversion solution designed for broadcast, live production, and professional AV environments where seamless integration between HDMI and SDI equipment is required. The unit supports bidirectional operation, converting HDMI to SDI or SDI to HDMI using a simple dip-switch selection, eliminating the need for separate converter units for each direction. An internal scaler allows the output resolution to be independently set from the input, with support for all common formats from 480i up to 1080p60, and includes a selectable video aspect ratio of 16:9 (Full) or 4:3 (Pillar Box).

A standout feature of the EZ-MD+ is its comprehensive audio handling. A 9-pin serial port, used with the included breakout cable, provides two balanced XLR inputs and two balanced XLR outputs, enabling external audio embedding into the video stream or de-embedding of embedded audio from the source for external monitoring. A front-panel 10-step rotary switch controls audio delay from 0 to 450 milliseconds in 50ms increments, allowing precise lip-sync correction. For mission-critical installations, the converter offers frame synchronization with Free Running, Input Lock, and Genlock modes via the BNC reference input. Genlock mode aligns the output signal with an external black burst or tri-level sync reference, ensuring stable integration into broadcast facilities. The unit is powered by an included 100-240V AC adapter, measures just 130 x 100.4 x 26.9 mm, and weighs 400 grams, making it ideal for mobile production racks as well as permanent installations.
