Lycian Short Front Mounted Color Boom for M2 System

The Lycian Short Front Mounted Color Boom is a specialized truss attachment designed for the Lycian M2 followspot system, enhancing its functionality by providing a convenient and integrated mounting solution for color magazines or other accessories. This accessory attaches to the front of the M2 spotlight housing, positioning color frames, boomerangs, or effects holders within easy reach of the operator, directly in the optical path of the fixture. Its primary purpose is to streamline the process of inserting and changing color gels or dichroic filters during a live performance, allowing the spotlight operator to quickly modify the beam's color without interrupting the focus or movement of the light. This is a critical feature in theatrical, concert, and live event productions where rapid, on-the-fly color changes are a fundamental part of the visual storytelling.

The boom is engineered for robustness and precise alignment, constructed from durable aluminum or steel to withstand the rigors of touring and frequent use. Its short, cantilevered design minimizes weight and bulk while ensuring that the color frames are held securely and accurately in the intense heat and light path of the followspot's beam. The mounting interface is specifically designed to mate with the Lycian M2's front casting, using secure locking pins or bolts to ensure a vibration-free connection that will not shift during pan, tilt, or transport. The accessory typically includes multiple slots or a rotating holder to accommodate several color frames at once, enabling an operator to slide between different pre-loaded colors with a single, smooth motion.

Integration with the operator's workflow is a key consideration. The boom places the color controls in an intuitive spatial relationship with the spotlight's other handles and levers, allowing for efficient one-handed operation. By consolidating color-changing capability directly onto the fixture itself, this accessory eliminates the need for separate, floor-standing color booms or cumbersome manual gel handling, increasing the speed and reliability of cues. It represents a professional-grade enhancement that expands the creative versatility and operational efficiency of the Lycian M2 followspot, making it an essential add-on for any production demanding high-performance spotlighting with dynamic color effects.
