About the Mackie MCK-2050081-00 SR18S 2000W 18" Professional Powered Subwoofer

The Mackie SR18S is a high-output professional powered subwoofer engineered to deliver deep, impactful low-frequency extension for mobile DJ, live sound, and installed applications. It features a powerful 18-inch long-excursion driver housed in a ported, 18mm plywood enclosure, powered by a dedicated 2000-watt peak class-D amplifier. The amplifier is paired with sophisticated digital signal processing that provides optimized tuning for the cabinet, dynamic limiting for driver protection, and selectable crossover modes to seamlessly integrate with full-range main speakers. The subwoofer's design prioritizes both maximum output and low-frequency extension, capable of producing substantial sound pressure levels to reinforce the bottom end of music and effects in medium to large venues.

The rear control panel is designed for flexible system integration and ease of use. It features dual combination XLR/TRS inputs with independent level controls, a pair of RCA inputs for consumer audio sources, and both XLR and RCA outputs that provide a high-pass filtered signal to daisy-chain to the main speakers. A comprehensive set of controls includes a rotary low-pass crossover filter, a polarity reversal switch, and a ground lift to eliminate potential hum. The inclusion of multiple voicing presets accessible via a selector switch allows users to quickly optimize the subwoofer's response for different musical genres or speech applications, making it adaptable to a variety of event requirements.

Built for portability and durability, the SR18S is equipped with heavy-duty steel handles, large-diameter casters, and a rugged textured finish to withstand the demands of frequent transport. Its balanced design provides a stable platform whether used as a single unit or stacked. The subwoofer’s performance is characterized by tight, controlled bass rather than simply sheer volume, ensuring musical clarity and punch. By combining substantial amplifier power, intelligent processing, and robust construction in a single enclosure, the Mackie SR18S serves as a reliable and powerful foundation for any portable or semi-permanent sound system requiring professional-grade low-frequency reinforcement.
