Constructed from thick-walled premium aluminum in Italy, it is built to easily handle full-sized broadcast camcorders and cinema rigs up to 12 kg. The system relies on large flip-lock collars for rapid height adjustments up to 164 cm. The Manfrotto 557B solves this by utilizing thick aluminum tubing capable of holding over 26 pounds, and it bypasses the need for a separate tripod head by featuring a built-in sliding quick-release plate assembly. This integrated plate allows operators to quickly shift their camera forward or backward to find the perfect center of gravity when shooting on the run.
