About the Marantz Professional PMD560 Solid-state Recorder

The Marantz Professional PMD560 is a 1U rack-mountable, solid-state digital audio recorder designed for professional installations such as houses of worship, corporate boardrooms, municipal courtrooms, and broadcast facilities.

Because traditional cassette, MiniDisc, and CD recorders rely on fragile laser mechanisms and constantly moving mechanical belts, they are highly prone to wear, skipping, and physical failure when left running continuously in permanent AV racks. The PMD560 solves this by completely eliminating all moving parts, recording uncompressed WAV or compressed MP3 audio directly to highly stable, easily swappable CompactFlash (CF) cards. This solid-state design provides total reliability for long-form archiving, while the front-panel USB port allows users to quickly transfer hours of recorded meetings, lectures, or sermons directly to a PC for distribution without un-racking the unit
