Meyer Sound UPA-1C Loudspeaker

$0.00

The Meyer Sound UPA-1C is a compact, high-power arrayable loudspeaker designed to perform in a wide variety of sound reinforcement applications. It is a biamplified system consisting of a proprietary 12-inch low-frequency cone driver in a vented enclosure with an 80-degree horizontal high-frequency horn and driver. The UPA-1C is designed to be operated as a system with the Meyer Sound M-1A Control Electronics Unit (one M-1A per channel). The M-1A comprises electronic crossover, Meyer Sound exclusive SpeakerSense™ driver protection circuitry, and amplitude and phase response alignment circuitry optimized for the loudspeaker.

About the Meyer Sound UPA-1C Loudspeaker

The Meyer Sound UPA-1C is a compact, high-performance, self-powered loudspeaker designed for a wide range of professional sound reinforcement applications, including fixed installations in theaters, houses of worship, conference centers, and as stage monitors or front-fills in touring systems. As part of Meyer Sound's UltraSeries, it integrates a dedicated power amplifier, precision analog crossover, and comprehensive protection circuitry directly within its enclosure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The system features a 12-inch low-frequency driver and a 2-inch exit compression driver on a constant-directivity horn, delivering high output with exceptional clarity and intelligibility across its bandwidth. The UPA-1C is renowned for its consistent, predictable coverage pattern and sonic signature, which allows for seamless integration in arrays and distributed systems.

A key advantage of the UPA-1C is its ease of use and integration within a larger Meyer Sound ecosystem. When used with a compatible system processor like the Meyer Sound Galileo, LD-3, or earlier models like the CP-10, the loudspeaker's performance can be finely tuned and aligned for the specific acoustic environment. The processor provides precise electronic correction for the loudspeaker's response, time alignment for multiple loudspeakers, and system optimization to ensure uniform coverage and frequency response. The UPA-1C's rugged, furniture-grade plywood enclosure is finished with a durable textured coating, making it suitable for both exposed and discreet installations.

Engineered for reliability in demanding environments, the UPA-1C operates on Meyer Sound's proprietary REM (Remote Enable Mode) network, allowing it to be powered and controlled remotely from a central location, which simplifies wiring and system management. Its self-powered design eliminates the need for external amplifier racks and complex load calculations, while the integrated protection circuitry safeguards the drivers from thermal and mechanical overload. The Meyer Sound UPA-1C remains a highly respected and widely used loudspeaker, offering a proven combination of sonic accuracy, robust construction, and system-friendly features for professional audio professionals.
