This card is specifically engineered to provide eight channels of high-quality analog connectivity, each featuring a discrete MIDAS microphone preamplifier on the input side, delivering the same sonic transparency, musicality, and headroom for which MIDAS analog consoles are renowned. The inputs accept both microphone and line-level signals via a robust, multi-pin "D-type" connector (typically a 25-pin D-sub), which is wired to breakout cables that terminate in standard XLR or TRS jacks for connection to sources on stage or in the rack. This consolidated connector approach allows for clean, high-density patching in permanent installations or within equipment racks.

On the output side, the card provides eight channels of balanced analog line-level output, also accessible via a second D-type connector. This makes the DL444 a balanced 8-in/8-out analog expansion module that seamlessly integrates into the console's digital patchbay.
