It has many of the same features as the Express XT - except that it is smaller and more affordable. The Micro Express USB is a half-rack unit with 4 inputs and 6 outputs. About the MOTU Micro Express 4x6 Midi Interface in Original Box

The MOTU Micro Express is a compact, 4-in/6-out USB MIDI interface, patchbay, and professional timecode synchronizer designed for hybrid music studios and live performance rigs. Functioning as a half-rack version of MOTU’s flagship MIDI Express XT, it is engineered to route complex MIDI data streams and bridge modern computer setups with vintage 5-pin analog synthesizers.

Because relying on simple MIDI "Thru" daisy-chains to connect multiple vintage synths quickly introduces unacceptable latency and timing drift, electronic musicians need a centralized hub to parallel-route their signals. Furthermore, composers working in film and broadcast often need a reliable way to lock their digital audio workstations (DAWs) to external video timecode. The Micro Express solves both issues simultaneously by offering sub-millisecond MIDI routing combined with a dedicated SMPTE timecode reader/generator, all drawing power directly from a single USB cable.
